Wrexham AFC has announced that the team will not travel to the United States for their pre-season game against Philadelphia Union. The match was due to take place on July 29.

Wrexham AFC said that they had received "significant assistance" from both the Welsh Government and US Embassy "to ensure the complex immigration requirements on both sides of the Atlantic could be satisfied".

Wrexham AFC said that they had decided to call-off the game due to the "increased risks and continued uncertainty created by COVID-19", adding that the club did not want "to expose the players and staff to unnecessary risks that could have a negative impact on preparations for the new season".

The club said that they hope to reschedule the game "at some stage in the next 12 months."
