Welsh Conservative MP Fay Jones has said that Cymru would not have had a single vaccine nor any financial support during the coronavirus crisis, if it were an independent country.

She said: "Separatist politicians would destroy the United Kingdom - without which we in Wales wouldn’t have a single vaccine or a single pound of Coronavirus support."

Ms Jones made the comments in response to an interview wth Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price who appeared on BBC's The Andrew Marr Show on Sunday (2 May).

During the interview, Price was asked about possible post-independence border arrangements with England.

Ms Jones said: "I hate the way Marr phrased his question to Adam Price. He asked about “independence from England” It’s not about England."

Responding to her message, YesCymru chair Siôn Jobbins said: "How did New Zealand, Israel or Ireland - to name just 3 very different but similar pop (and former British run) manage? Genuinely, not being sarcastic. How?

"Why do you think Wales would be uniquely unable to do this? Why do Tories support every small indy country except Wales?"
