Plaid Cymru Senedd member Elin Jones has been elected as Llywydd of the Senedd for a second term.

Jones saw off competition from the Conservative MS for Sir Drefaldwyn, Russell George, who received twenty-five votes compared to Jones' thirty-five.

The role of the Llywydd is to chair plenary sessions, protect the rights of Senedd members, and maintain order in the Siambr.

Jones was nominated by Labour MS Lynne Neagle, while George was nominated by his Conservative colleague Laura Anne Jones.
