The leaders of Plaid Cymru and Welsh Conservatives have called for a national public inquiry into the handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Appearing on ITV Wales leaders' debate, Adam Price of Plaid Cymru and Andrew RT Davies of the Welsh Conservatives said that the inquiry should be conducted in addition to another UK-wide one.

The Welsh Government is responsible for the public health response to the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

However, First Minister Mark Drakeford called for a single inquiry involving all of the UK nations.

Drakeford said that we was "not in favour of rival inquiries."

"There needs to be a four-nation inquiry in which there is a specific focus on the way in which we have discharged our responsibilities in Wales," he said.
