Labour and Plaid Cymru will resume their campaigning for the upcoming Senedd election after the Senedd tributes session for Prince Philip, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, 12 April at 11:00.

Both parties decided to suspend their election campaigns shortly after news of the Duke of Edinburgh's death was announced.

Senedd to be recalled

The Senedd will be recalled so that members can pay their tributes in a virtual session.

Earlier today, The Senedd released a statement in response to the news: "The Senedd is saddened by the news of the passing of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family."

Flags on the Senedd estate are being flown at half mast and an online condolences book has been opened for those wishing to pay their respects.
