The seat is held by Labour, but is one of Plaid's target seats.

It appears as though the Conservatives are just ahead.

Rumours that Plaid Cymru might gain Aberconwy from the Conservatives.

Turnout in De Clwyd (Clwyd South) is reported to be a hefty 59%.


However, turnout in Merthyr Tudful is reported to be very low at around 35%

Much is being made of the Tories doubling their majority in Sir Drefaldwyn (Montgomeryshire). However, Labour had the biggest percentage increase on the 2016 election with +8.4%. Plaid also performed strongly clinching second place (highest ever) from fourth in 2016 with an 7.7% increase. The Lib Dems had a disappointing result, dropping 11%.

Liberal Democrats slip to third place in Sir Drefaldwyn (Montgomeryshire)— this might not bode well for neighbouring Brycheiniog a Sir Faesyfed (Brecon and Radnorshire).

The Conservatives appear to be a bit more confident about their chances of holding onto Aberconwy.

It's looking as though the party will hold onto De Clwyd, as well as Bro Morgannwg.


It's also looking good for the party in Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr.

Rumours seem to be suggesting a mixed picture for Plaid Cymru.


ITV Cymru's Adrian Masters is reporting that there is rumoured to be a high turnout, as well as a big swing against Plaid Cymru in Rhondda.


However, there are whispers that Plaid could narrowly gain Aberconwy from the Conservatives— but it's on a knife edge.


Remember: These are rumours, and no results have yet been announced.

The Conservatives are performing well, and Labour poorly, across the border in England. It will be interesting to see to what extent voting patterns diverge here in Cymru.

Some constituencies have given estimated declaration times.


Results for both Dwyrain Caerfyrddin a Dinefwr and Llanelli are expected first at around 13.30.
