An initiative to reopen a historic pub has raised over 90% of its £400,000 target with only a a day to go before the June 11 closing date for buying shares.

Menter Ty'n Llan, a community enterprise to buy the old Ty'n Llan pub in the village of Llandwrog, Gwynedd, is urging people to support the initiative at the eleventh hour.

Actor Rhys Ifans has backed the call, saying "a good pub is the heart of the community, but it can’t be if it's closed."

Ifans has called on people to "support this wonderful enterprise!"

The pub closed its doors more than three years ago, and the initiative says the 200-year-old building could also serve as a village shop, café, and community centre.
