The Football Association of Wales is calling on schools across the country to sing Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau this Friday morning ahead of Cymru's last-16 game against Denmark on Saturday.
The FAW is asking schools to send in clips which will then be used to create a "special compilation" to encourage the team ahead of match day.
The request appears to be a veiled criticism of an idea backed by the UK government to celebrate 'One Britain One Nation Day' in schools across the United Kingdom on Friday.
As part of the 'OBON Day', school pupils would sing an anthem with the lyrics: “We are Britain and we have one dream to unite all people in one Great Team”.
Earlier in the week, the Welsh Government appeared to pour cold water on the idea backed by England's Department of Education, pointing out that education is a devolved matter.
