The Arts Council of Wales has issued a statement on social media condemning racist abuse directed at one of its employees.

The racist comments were targeted at the Arts Council's newly appointed Agent for Change, Andrew Ogun, a 23-year-old writer, musician, designer, and activist from Casnewydd.

The Agent for Change role was created by the Arts Council "to identify and call out the barriers that prevent fairness and inclusion" and to "lead a process of cultural change" within the organisation.

In the statement, the Arts Council said: "Racism and all forms of discriminatory behaviours are wholly unacceptable, and the Arts Council of Wales condemns it completely. We will not tolerate this despicable behaviour."
