Almost half of Welsh adults get their news from social media


A new survey conducted by Ofcom has shown that 46% of Welsh adults source their news from social media sites.


The 2021 News Consumption Survey (Wales) shows that Facebook is the most popular social media site in the country to source news, with a total of 34% of Welsh adults using the site.


Twitter is the second most popular social media site for news consumption, being used by 25% of Welsh adults.


Instagram, WhatsApp, and Snapchat, are used by 14%, 11%, and 4% of Welsh adults respectively.
